Rs 2,500

Applying in the late-fee window adds Rs 500 for every candidate. Fees are not refundable, and each session needs its own application and fee. Check the Information Bulletin for the exact fee if you are applying for more than one paper or from outside India.

Who Can Apply, Documents Needed and How to Register

Candidates who passed Class 12 (or equivalent) in 2025 or 2026, or are appearing in 2027, can apply, and there is no age limit. Admission to any IIT, NIT or other institute still depends on that institute's own eligibility rules, so read the Information Bulletin before you apply.

Keep these ready

  • Valid email ID and mobile number

  • Aadhaar details (registration also works through the Meri Pehchaan single sign-on)

  • Class 10 certificate or marksheet, and Class 12 marksheet or admit card details

  • Recent photograph and signature, plus a live photo captured during the form

  • Category certificate (EWS / OBC-NCL / SC / ST) or PwD / UDID certificate, if applicable

  • Passport for foreign nationals and OCI candidates

Steps to apply

  1. Go to jeemain.nta.nic.in and open the Session 1 registration link.

  2. Create a new registration, choose your login and identification mode, and enter your name, mobile number and email.

  3. Note the application number and password generated for you. The password must be 8 to 13 characters with an uppercase letter, a lowercase letter, a number and a special character.

  4. Log in and fill in your personal and educational details.

  5. Select your paper and up to four preferred exam cities.

  6. Upload the photograph, signature, identity proof and certificates.

  7. Pay the fee online and download the confirmation page.

Submit only one application. If you create duplicates, NTA keeps the one with a successful payment, and appearing under more than one application number counts as unfair means. Apply early so you get your preferred exam city.

Every correct answer earns +4 marks and every wrong answer costs -1. The exam runs in two shifts a day, with the morning shift starting at 9 AM; check your admit card for your exact shift timing. B.Arch aspirants take Paper 2A (Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing Test), so choose your paper carefully in the form.

The paper is offered in 13 languages: Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. Availability of a regional language depends on your exam centre's state.

What Aspirants Should Do Now

Session 1 is under three months away, so use the registration window well.

  • Register early. Do not wait for 22 November; early applicants have a better chance of getting their first-choice exam city.

  • Prepare your documents today. Your name and date of birth should match your Class 10 certificate exactly, so check them before you start.

  • Map your syllabus. Split the NCERT Class 11 and 12 syllabus into the 12 weeks you have, and revise high-weightage chapters first.

  • Practice in test mode. Take timed mock tests on a computer, since the exam is computer-based and negative marking punishes guesses.

  • Keep Session 2 in mind. If Session 1 does not go as planned, the April session lets you improve your score.
