GyanSanchar · 6 Nov 2026

The Central Board of Secondary Education has published the date sheet for the 2027 board examinations. The Class 12 theory papers begin on 16 February and end on 9 April 2027, which leaves about fourteen weeks from today to the first paper. Below you will find the dates most students need, how much breathing space your own papers get, and a way to use these weeks well.

The dates here are compiled from reports on the published schedule. Before you plan, open the official notice titled "Date Sheet for Class X and Class XII Board Examinations, 2027" on cbse.gov.in and match every date with your own subject codes.

How much time you get between papers

The gap between two papers decides how much revision you can fit in. Here is how it looks for the common combinations, counting calendar days between one paper and the next.

  • Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics: Physics to Chemistry is 11 days, Chemistry to English is 6 days and English to Mathematics is 4 days.

  • Physics, Chemistry, Biology: Chemistry to English is 6 days, then Biology comes 20 days after English, so Biology gets the longest runway.

  • Commerce: Accountancy to English is 10 days, English to Economics is 11 days, and Economics to Business Studies is 16 days.

  • Humanities: Geography to English is 8 days, English to Political Science is 14 days, and Political Science to History is 8 days.

Your own gaps depend on the subjects you chose, so write down yours from the official sheet.

What the order of papers means for you

  • Physics comes first. It is numerical-heavy, so timed practice should start now and not in February.

  • Mathematics is the last paper in the science block, only four days after English. Do not let it go rusty while you focus on Physics and Chemistry. Keep a few problems every day.

  • Biology and the Commerce papers have long gaps near the end. That is helpful, but it also makes it easy to postpone. Set small targets for those weeks as well.

  • English falls in the first week of March for everyone. Plan the writing practice for it early, because it is a skill that needs repetition.

Reports on the schedule say CBSE tried to avoid two subjects of one student falling on the same day and kept the dates of major entrance exams in mind. Entrance exams such as JEE Main and NEET have their own schedules, so check those separately and look for clashes.

A plan from today to 16 February

Now to mid-December

Finish every chapter that is still pending. Read NCERT line by line for Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and make a single sheet each for formulae, reactions and definitions. Fix weak chapters first, not the ones you enjoy.

Mid-December to January

Move from chapters to tests. Solve previous year papers and sample papers subject by subject, mark them honestly and keep a notebook of mistakes. Prepare your practical file and viva as per your school's schedule.

February

Write full papers in the real time slot, starting at 10:30 AM, so your body gets used to the routine. Revise in the order of the date sheet, and keep the last few days before each paper for light revision only.

Do these this week

  • Download the official date sheet and save it on your phone.

  • Write your subject codes and dates in a notebook or on a wall chart.

  • Count the days between your papers and mark the revision slots.

  • Talk to your teachers about the practical and internal assessment dates.

  • Tell your parents the dates, so that family plans do not clash.

On the day of the paper

Carry your admit card, read the instructions printed on it and reach the centre early. Mobile phones and other communication devices are not allowed inside the exam centre. Check the subject and the question paper code before you begin to write.
